"Vacancy" ("Zimmer frei") consists of a series of lectures that was developed to encourage the regional cross linkage between architecture and tourism.
The discussions about architecture in tourism were supplemented by excursions and lectures. It is a joint project of platou and ORTE (a network of architects in Lower Austria). The concepts for the lectures were developed by Bibiane Hromas (platou) and Franziska Leeb (ORTE).
Selected Austrian regions invited experts from the sectors of tourism, economics, regional and urban planning, architecture and politics. The program also included excursions to relevant examples of architecture within the area.
Aim of the Vacancy lecture series was to collectively elaborate on ideas to provide a basis for strategies to successfully realize sustainable tourism projects within the region.
Regional tourism experts, project managers, investors, service providers, politician, regional and urban planners were among the participants of Vacancy.
